As part of Phase III of the CyberBridge project, an event was organized today at the Socio-Economic College.
The event brought together members of the college’s academic staff and a large number of students representing various fields of study. Among the distinguished participants were Rizvan Nabiyev, PhD in Political Science and member of the Defense, Security and Anti-Corruption Committee of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly), and Professor Mubariz Hajibayov, Director of the College.
During the meeting, Member of Parliament Rizvan Nabiyev delivered a presentation on the topic “Security in the Digital Environment and the Role of Youth.” In his speech, he provided detailed information on the national legislative framework in Azerbaijan related to cybersecurity and digital safety, as well as the country’s participation in multilateral international conventions and bilateral agreements in this field.
He also addressed key issues such as combating disinformation and “fake news,” promoting responsible behavior in digital spaces, and raising public awareness. Furthermore, he highlighted the roles of the state, society, and public-private partnerships in strengthening information security, supporting his remarks with examples from international best practices.
The interactive discussion session emphasized the importance of increasing awareness in the field of cybersecurity, enhancing digital literacy, and reinforcing information security as a critical component of societal development. Participants engaged in an in-depth exchange of ideas and addressed various questions on these topics.
The event was initiated by the College’s Student Youth Organization and Cyber Club, with organizational support from the Socio-Economic College. The program concluded with a closing speech delivered by Professor Mubariz Hajiyev.
